I completed electrical engineering.I have no interest in software but unfortunately opportunities are more in that field. I decided to join GATE classes at Hyderabad s i m interested in core electrical,so am i taking right decision? I need to settle as quickly.
Hi Aniket,
Chances are very slim that you will ever skip software even if you do M.Tech. in Electrical. Most of the engineering and innovation is first conceptualized and simulated using a relevant software in all engineering fields. So it is better to embrace the software and technology.
However, work hard to get placed in a core electrical company from the campus placement itself. Also, be careful while choosing a college for your post graduate studies. Only IITs and a few NITs have great courses and campus placement for core engineering fields. Other colleges push their students to join software companies. So do your research before joining a college after your GATE exam.
