Sir/Ma’am,
I’m a final year student of B.com(Honours) F&A. My age is 24 and I’m thinking of doing MBA in future. I’m very much concerned about the age factor. If i want to do mba then i need to drop an year for the coaching and then get enrolled to an mba college. In the span of this one yearalong with the coaching of mba I’m thinking of doing a joint program of St.Xaviers and NSE certified course. So i want to know that even if drop for an ywar and then complete my mba after that will that one year loss cost my job opportunities in future as because i have been said from my childhood that age matters.
Yours greatfull.
Hi Abhilash,
You are right. Age matters. Fortunately you have most of the productive time with you. By the time you would complete your MBA, you might be 27/28. When you will join an MBA college, you will realize that average age of your age may be 26-27. That means some of the students are older than average age while some are less than that.
Therefore do not worry about the age. Focus on your passion and build a career which is closer to your passion. You have age on your side. Personally I know many successful people who have done their MBA at the age of 29-33 and have been placed in top MNCs with great roles and responsibilities.
Do contact me back if you need any help.
Wishing you all the best.
