I have done my BA in Economics in the year 2004, then started preparing for UPSC & State PCS exams but couldn’t succeed. This is year 2016. I am 34 yrs of age now. I have spend more than 10 years in getting selected in Civil Services exam. I know it’s late but now I want to go in Private sector. Which professional Courses could you suggest me for getting placement there excluding MBA & MCA ?
Hi Aalok,
There are several career option in private sector that you can try. To begin with, you may need to set your expectations in terms of salary and job profile. At this age, it may feel little awkward to start career from an entry level. But there may not be many options available in the market where you can start at mid-level due to lack of experience. However, I am sure that you can quickly grow once you start.
You need to first decide the work that you like to do. If you would like to work in Business Development side of the business, you can try SMEs in Technology or services sector. For that, you don’t need to do any course.
Some of the courses that can enhance career prospects are:
- Intellectual Property Rights and Patent Management
- Financial Advisors Certifications
- Data Scientists/ Statistics
- CFA (Chartered Financial Analysts)
- Digital Marketing
Today, you also have multiple options to work independently. You may have a look on this to see how you can work as an independent professional until you join private sector formally.
Everyone can do freelancing without initial investment or training!
